Who We Are / Meet the Teams / Sussex
Sussex
Sussex is one of the newest regions to join DocBike, however they are making massive strides and have already gained a fantastic supporter base!
Rider
John Allsopp
DocBike Sussex is headed up by John Allsopp. John has worked in various roles in the NHS for 25 years and is currently a clinical team leader and professional lead. John has ridden motorcycles all over the world for the last 38 years and has held an advanced riding qualification for 37 of these. John has also supported the BikerDown programme for over 10 years since its inception. He is passionate about improving rider skills and is also working with BikerDown with the view to bring in Mental Health Motorbike awareness as part of the course.
The idea is to give everyone who attends the skills to deal with being first one scene at a motorbike accident, whilst also promoting mental health support between bikers for the times it’s needed.
As we all know, Bikers often focus on what to do at the scene of an accident, but don’t really know how to approach services should they find themselves or others in a mental health crisis, or in tough times.
We believe that all of these components bundled together under one “roof” is a great way to get the message across about advanced riding, BikeSafe, Mental Health and to provide all the people of Sussex access to critical care medical staff with the faster response that a motorcycle can deliver in such time critical cases.
