Who We Are / Meet the Teams / Northamptonshire
Northamptonshire
We’re delighted to confirm that DocBike is now operating in Northamptonshire!
Our Rider
Dr Mark Folman is Deputy Medical Director of East Midlands Ambulance Service and also flies with The Air Ambulance Service. Passionate about motorcycles and preventing people from getting into scrapes on their bikes, Mark brings with him a wealth of pre-hospital experience of dealing with many critically ill or individual patients be they motorcyclists or not.
Rider Training
Sargent Andy Hunt of Northamptonshire Police’s Driver Training Unit, is responsible for teaching the riders how to handle their bikes at normal road speed and on a blue-light response.
Training for the DocBike medics is the same as for the police motorcyclists – it’s not easy to pass the course, but knowing how to handle your bike not only keeps you on two wheels, but gives you more pleasure when out riding!
Volunteers
DocBike Northamptonshire is in its infancy, but we need your help to raise funds to keep it on the road, to pay for engagement equipment and help to man events attended by the DocBike.
If you have any time to spare, would be keen to help raise funds, help run BikerDown courses in Northamptonshire or attend events with Dr Folman and the team, please email northamptonshire@docbike.org
How Can You Help?
Below are some of the ways that you can help us. Whether you donate, fundraise for us, volunteer, or follow us on social media, your support really will make a big difference, thank you!
Volunteer
Everyone involved with the charity is a volunteer, we do not employ a single person. We are always looking for new volunteers who can help, so whatever you’re good at and however much time you have, we would be delighted to hear from you!
If you would like to help us by becoming a volunteer, take a look at the different roles on our Volunteer Page.
Fundraise for us
With your commitment, enthusiasm, and support, we can help to save more lives. Whether you are part of business, a group or you would personally like to raise funds for DocBike, there are so many different ways that you can help us.
If you would like to fundraise in aid of DocBike Northamptonshire, please visit our campaign page on Just Giving.
Donate
No matter how big or small, we are extremely grateful for all donations received. Your support enables the charity to direct resources to stop bikers from having a collision in the first place and to kit out the response motorcycles with medical equipment, so that we can be there for fallen bikers when they are involved in a collision.
You can make a one-off or regular donation to us below.
Follow us!
You can help to raise awareness of our life-saving work by sharing our posts with others on social media. To keep up to date with DocBike in the Northamptonshire area, follow us on Twitter.

Don’t forget Gift Aid! If you are a UK Tax Payer, please do not forget to Gift Aid your donation.
