DocBike Sussex receive £1,300 donation from Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association, Sussex Chapter
Sussex might be one of the newest regions to join DocBike, however they are already making huge strides in gaining support! John Allsopp, Regional Lead for DocBike Sussex provides the following update after receiving a generous £1,300 donation from the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association, Sussex Chapter.
On the evening of the 23rd September, I was kindly invited to meet the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association, The Sussex Chapter, who were meeting at the Cock Inn, Ringmer. This was a well-attended meeting to cover the Chapter’s future plans, eat great food and enjoy each other’s company.
Being introduced as the ‘celebrity guest’ was a little daunting but we pressed on to explain the work that DocBike Sussex had been doing and our progress to date.
After a fantastic evening with great company, The Chapter’s Road Captain, Simon Rideout, presented me with a cheque for an amazing £1,300 which will certainly be a great help in moving forward within the county.
It’s a successful Chapter because it’s full of good, decent, honourable, honest people of good character, who care about each other and love riding bikes with purpose.
The Chapter’s Chaplain, John Button was keen to promote DocBike within the Sussex Freemasons Lodges (of which there are 160 in Sussex). This support will be invaluable as we work hard to cement partnership working across multiple agencies.
I would like to say a huge thank you once again to the Chapter, for this kind and very generous donation to DocBike Sussex!
