A national survey is underway to assess how motorcycle fatalities can be reduced across the country and DocBike were proud to be the first people interviewed this morning. Commissioned by Highways England, AECOM is the world’s premier infrastructure firm, partnering with clients to solve the world’s most complex challenges and build legacies for generations to come, so it seemed fitting that the charity could impart their knowledge and experience about everything from engaging with motorcyclists, to treating them right at the start.
A strong recurrent theme from DocBike’s perspective was using research and evidence base to direct what injury prevention measures are effective and to share data openly between organisations, whilst still complying with GDPR regulations in order to really make a difference.
We were also keen to use our knowledge of aviation processes (through our links with the air ambulance) to engineer out collisions as the manufacture of cars becomes more advanced.
In all, the charity continues to be a staunch supporter of anyone who wants to get involved in eradicating motorcycle-related deaths and we will always be keen to share our experience, knowledge and research freely to help achieve this.
